Optimization of Furniture Inventory in a Supermarket Using ABC Classification and EOQ Model

Inventory management is a significant operation for supply chains, especially for the supermarket hence it is very important to have proper inventory management technique for smooth and profitable functioning of every business. So, this study examines inventory management practice for furniture items in Supermarket located in California, US. The main purpose of this study is to apply ABC (Always Better control) classification and EOQ (Economic order Quantity) on some furniture items. This inventory control includes classification of 154 furniture items into three category A, B and C. Then finding the optimal quantity to be ordered using EOQ model. All this computation has been done on MATLAB with graphs for better visualization.
