Abstract

For solving non-linear equations, two new one-parameter families of iteration methods are presented. The iteration process is based on one-point approximation using rational function. The families include the Euler, Chebyshev, Halley and super-Halley methods as special case. All the methods of the families are cubically convergent. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency and performance of the methods.
