Abstract

In recent times, the field of signal/image processing has become a conglomeration of researchers working in applied mathematics, medical and applied sciences, and engineering and technology. Right from acquisition of images to segmentation, transformation, quantisation, encoding and finally to combining, inverse transformation, dequantisation and decoding, require people of different expertise to work together. In this article, we present some of the models of image restoration/denoising applying techniques of wavelets, diffusion and total variation, carried out by our research group.
