Abstract

In this decade with the enormous development of information and communication technologies (ICTs), hundreds of application of information technology arise in the globe every moment. These technologies, especially the web 2.0 applications have enabled libraries to improve their services in a variety of ways. The diversity in these applications has helped him to reach the user at any time to offer the services according to his user's preferences. It has become essential for libraries and librarians to keep pace with changes as they happen, both in order to meet user's expectations in the present and to guarantee appropriate and open services for the future. In this juncture it will be appropriate to evaluate the skills librarians have acquired to offer these services and also to glimpse whether they use these applications in their working place. This paper attempts to find out the skills of Indian library professionals in using the web2.0 services.
