Research performance of Indian institutes of technology bhubaneswar and patna during 2009–2018: An analytical study

To assess the qualitative and quantitative development of subjects especially science subjects, Scientometrics studies are undertaken. The present paper is an attempt to assess the qualitative and quantitative research performance of two Indian institutes of Technology, namely IIT Bhubaneswar and III Patna. The study assesses 2045 papers published by scientists of Indian Institutes of Technology Bhubaneswar and 1977 papers published by scientists of Indian Institutes of Technology Patna respectively during the period 2009 to 2018, research output is retrieved and indexed in the SCOPUS bibliographic database. The study indicates that low publication output is observed in the initial years but it gradually picks its momentum from the year 2012 onwards. Almost all the most common journals were published in the advanced countries of the World. The number of papers in high and very high impact factor journals for IITBBSR is slightly higher than the IIT Patna.
