The use of ICT tools for teaching opened up new avenues for teaching, learning and access to educational resources that were previously unavailable. This paper attempts to investigate the use of ICT materials for teaching in higher education by faculty members in the Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka. The focus is to know about the ICT facilities available in the institutions, advantages and purpose of using ICT for teaching and so on. To collect data from faculty members, a structured questionnaire was created in Google Form and sent to 160 faculty members of government and aided first grade colleges in Uttara Kannada District through mail and WhatsApp, out of that 124 faculties had send their response accounting (77.5%). The study found that, majority 85(68.55%) of respondents opine that it helps to create PPT for presentation, ICT helps in quick access to information. Majority 94(76.4%) of respondents use ICT tools daily and they said that it enhances their knowledge, and more number of teachers use ICT materials for their project work and class room work.
