Research Productivity at the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur’s research productivity from 2019 to 2023. The researchers retrieved 2503 research publications from the Scopus database and used Biblioshiny, a web interface of the Bibliometrix package in R Studio, to analyze them. The study revealed a progressive increase in research productivity. The document types of publication analysis indicated that NIT Hamirpur research preferred articles to communicate their research outputs. Engineering emerged as the dominant field of research, reflecting the Institute’s academic focus. The funding analysis revealed that the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, India, was the top sponsor, supporting 104 (4.16%) of the total publications, followed by internal funding for 90(3.60%) papers. This comprehensive study offers insights into the evolving research landscape at NIT Hamirpur, emphasizing its contributions to various scientific domains.
