This paper presents a citation analysis of Ph.D. theses submitted in the Department of Commerce of the Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, from 2009-2022, available on Shodhganga. The study is based on the 17176 citations cited in 132 PhD theses of commerce. The study analyses several parameters like authorship pattern, bibliographic form, year-wise distribution of theses, ranking of core journals and books, and year-wise distribution of cited documents. The study finds that text books/e-books form is the most preferred source of information used by the researcher in commerce, accounting for 33.76%. Most of the citations, 51.84%, are contributed by a single author. The USA is the most significant literature producer in commerce compared to other countries, and the most dominant language was English, 74.90%.
