Abstract

The present study aims to assess library anxiety among undergraduate students. This study was conducted at Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi, India. A survey method was used with a structured questionnaire with 66 statements across eight factors, showing high reliability with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.926. The major findings of this study reveal that the overall level of library anxiety among undergraduate students was mild, and only the user education factor had a moderate level of anxiety, while all other factors showed mild anxiety. No statistically significant difference was found in library anxiety across gender and years of study, while across disciplines, the difference was significant. The study also suggests some measures to alleviate library anxiety among Indian students.
