Abstract

This study examines the usage patterns and challenges of a digital library over a ten-year period (2016-2025). Data were collected from the digital library usage register, which recorded a total of 47,520 users, along with interviews conducted with 100 students to understand their preferences and difficulties. The findings indicate that the highest usage occurred in 2016, with an average annual usage of 4,752 users. Usage was notably higher during examination months, particularly February and March, and declined during vacation periods. Postgraduate students constituted the largest user group, followed by undergraduates and research scholars. Students from commerce and management disciplines utilized the digital library more than those from science and arts streams. The study also reveals that users primarily accessed the digital library for general Internet browsing and search engine use rather than specialized academic resources. Key challenges identified include slow Internet speed and frequent power interruptions. The study highlights the need for improved infrastructure, increased bandwidth, reliable power supply, and enhanced user awareness to ensure effective utilization of digital library resources in academic institutions.
