Disaster Management and Electronic Storage Media: An Overview

The present paper overviews the concept of Disaster Management in Libraries and Information Centres in the context of electronic storage media and print media. Different types of electronic media for storing the information, forms of disasters, disaster control plans have been discussed at a length. The paper also finds a brief mention of initiatives taken by International agencies like UNESCO in spreading awareness and education regarding the disaster reduction planning. Role of Information Technology in managing the disasters is also mentioned in brief.
