Abstract

Web search engines have become an effective tool for searching information on internet and producing many results in diverse web resources forms and file formats. The present study aims to judge the capability of five selected search engines and search terms on the basis of first ten results and to identify most appropriate search term and search engine in searching and finding relevant information on the marketing of library and information services area on the web. The results of the study revealed that search term “marketing library services ” and search engine namely “Google ” yielded maximum relevant results and maximum information on the subject available in “website ” form and “Hypertext Markup Language ” format. This study would assist users for quickly searching and finding relevant information on marketing of library and information services area.
