Abstract

The study attempts to analyze the ICT and Research skills of LIS research scholars. The data were collected from the Research Scholars who are presently pursuing their research in various Universities/Colleges under full time and part-time schemes in Tamil Nadu. A well structured questionnaire was designed to collect the data from the respondents. Based on the study, it is found that majority of research scholars were high skilled in the basic application of computer technologies and further it is found that the research scholars should improve their skills in statistical analysis, presentation skills, report writing and web technologies. It is further recommended that the department of Library and Information Science must include ICT and research skills as a part of their syllabus to impart these skills at primary level of LIS education.
