This study aims to explore the level of usage of electronic information resources and services in teaching and learning, as well as the impact of its usage. The problem has been studied based on the information available in the open literature and a survey conducted on the awareness and utilization of EIR in 6 management colleges. The survey is based on structured questionnaire method. In the present study the faculty members (Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors) and students of 6 management colleges at NCR are the target population. A total of 200 questionnaires were distributed to the selected sample for the session 2011–12; 170 valid samples were selected for analyses. Awareness among the users about the availability of EIR was found satisfactory. Majority of academic community (Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Students) use Bibliographic databases, plus other specialist management databases and Webbased resources (95.65%, 95.83%, 91.18%, 41.57%) and e-journals & e-journal collection in equal percentages which is followed by use of e-mail, newsgroups etc. (86.96%, 83.33%, 70.59%, 92.13%) and web-based news resources. Majority of the academic community used Emerald Management Xtra (95.65%, 87.50%, 85.29%, 26.97%), EBSCO Business Source Complete (95.65%, 87.50%, 88.24%, 43.82%) and Science Direct (Business, management & Accounting) (95.65%, 87.50%, 88.24%, 43.82%). All the academic community satisfied with the use of electronic information resources.
