This study was conducted to determine the level of computer literacy skills in the use of web resources amongst medical faculty and students. A self-administered structured questionnaire was used. This study showed that the web was competing fiercely with libraries. The convenience of the web and easiness of obtaining information on the web will attract more and more medical faculty and students. This raises an urgent need for medical faculty and students to develop computer literacy skills and apply them in electronic information environment. Hence, it is recommended the medical college libraries in Coastal Karnataka to move aggressively to develop plans for users’ computer literacy training.
