Abstract

This paper presents a survey regarding the use of information resources and services at Punjabi University Extension Library Mohali. The number of users surveyed was 80 comprising of 60 males and 20 females. The results showed that maximum users were of above 60 years age group. The purpose of visiting 42.5% users was to read newspaper/magazines only. 41.25% users visited the library twice a week. The three fourth users were satisfied with the reading material and 80% users were not using library catalogue at all. Users were generally satisfied with the physical facilities as well as services offered to them by the staff of the library. This paper also discusses a few suggestions to make the services more beneficial for the community at large.
