Abstract

The present study describes the reading skills prospects and challenges of the students of Government Arts and Commerce College, Indore, M.P. India. Attempt to know the response of the student this study adopts the questionnaire method for collection of data. To select the sample population, random sampling method has been used. Accordingly the questionnaire was distributed among 350 students of Government Arts and Commerce College, Indore, out of which 300 responded. The study reveal that a majority of respondents i.e. 116(38.6%) spend 2–4 hours daily for reading and 65(21.6%) are in the favour of guided tour to promote the reading skills. Lack of latest information is a most common encountered by the majority of respondents 105(35%), while 68(22.6%) respondents have problem with time due to busy schedule of classes. Finally highlights the suggestions for improvement of reading skills among the students.
