Awareness and Use of IT based Library and Information Services among B. Tech Students of School of Engineering of Tezpur University: A survey

The present study deals with the awareness and use of IT based library and information services among the B. Tech students of Tezpur University. The study also investigated the user's satisfaction on IT based library and information services offered to user communities and the problems faced by the B. Tech students while using it. Authors also made attempt to draw opinion and suggestions from users to improve the awareness and use of IT based library and information services. Finding revealed that lack of awareness about the available IT based library and information services and lack of guidance and training were the major problems that users faced, while using IT based library and information services. Authors further suggested create awareness about the IT based library and information services, conduct regular guidance and training programme among engineering students and improve infrastructure facilities in library, hostel, departments and in computer centre for better use of IT based library and information services offered at Tezpur University.
