Abstract

Undoubtedly, library has a long journey with print media but in the twenty first century the library has been recognized as the hive of digital contents and due to the advent of digital era, the academic-research world has been bestowed and enriched with invaluable legacy of information and knowledge which will prove the milestone for coming generation. Library recognizes as spine of research world, even without library the research community does not have any meaning. Digital contents have been changing the collection, shape and orientation of library services. E-resources viz. e-journals, e-books, internet resources, electronic databases are highly in demand due to easily available on the web. Without digital contents, the libraries cannot cater to the needs of the generation Z users. In fact, digital contents may have the endless contents along with their accessibility which is based on no beginning and no end. In digital world, the distance does not have any meaning as contents are available remotely and their accessibility is possible from any corner of the academic-research world. The present study tries to unveil the facts which prove that library is the hive of digital contents.
