Rice is a major component of the agricultural sector in particular and the overall economy in general. Flooded paddy is often sold at low price causing economical loss to the farmers. Therefore, the present study was conducted to study the milling properties of flood affected paddy in comparison with normal paddy to find various milling parameters. Statistically significant difference at P <0.05 was observed in all the milling quality characteristics viz., husked rice % (N: 78.38% and F: 75.48%), head rice % (N: 93.71% and F: 84.89%),broken rice % (N: 6.29% and F: 15.11%) and milling recovery % (N: 73.45% and F: 64.08%) between the normal paddy and flood affected paddy. Therefore, further extensive research is needed for the utilization of paddy for the production of more feasible and convenient products in order to minimize the economic losses to the farmers.
