In India, healthcare sector is playing a predominant role in terms of revenue and employment. India is the destination for patients across the boundaries. With the increasing demand, quality service is becoming a dominant success factor to sustain in the global competition. The survival and sustainment of the organisation depends on competencies possessed by their employees. Building strategies to map the competencies of the the manpower with the job is as important as recruiting the talented and continuously nurturing their skills. In this way, Competency mapping helps the organisations to be more effective, efficient and competent. The present study attempted to find out the relationship between knowledge, skill and attitudes and itsimpact on the attitude of the ward clerks. The results show that there is a significant impact of knowledge on attitude and skill on attitude. When the knowledge and skills are taken together then the impact of knowledge on attitude becomes insignificant whereas the skill on attitude become significant. The study also attempted to know the significant difference in the competencies possessed by the ward clerks based on their experience. The results show a significant difference in the competencies possessed by the ward clerks.
