Abstract

The research aimed to examine entrepreneurial competency of Mizan-Aman Business community with quantitative data. The study was descriptive research with cross sectional data. The data were collected via closed-ended questionnaire and structured interview. 190 respondents were sampled from the 2584 population using finite population sample size formula of Yemane(1967). Simple random sampling technique was applied in order to obtain sample business owners. The collected data has been analyzed using descriptive data analysis techniques; mean, standard deviation, frequency and presented in the form of tables. Findings revealed that respondents are highly competent in all areas of entrepreneurial competency except in management competency. Based on findings researches recommended that competency enhancing training should be provided to make business communities more competent. Furthermore, government should access and provide land for business operators and promote free market. The beginning of land provision for manufacturing industries should be strengthened and applied for wholesalers, service and retail industries.
