Marketing activities have high visibility as it is closely interwoven with business activities concentrating on building relationships through trust and commitment. This clearly lends an ethical dimension to marketing. Everyone in business is wise to develop moral fibers because ethical problems often lead to legal problems, which bite into profits. The enterprise is borne by stakeholders who give birth to an enterprise and keep its heart beating. Packaging and labeling practices are the critics distaste. The issues in this regard are irregularities of package size and shape, provision of intelligible labeling information, ecological issues are also in the forefront (Recycling centre established by aluminum companies) and pricing strategies (criticism concerning ethics during implementation periods). The objective of better food labelling initiative was to find out what consumers think about food labels, and particularly what improvements they would like to see. The increased exposure of consumers due to liberalization of trade, globalization and development in food science and technology has led to increase in trade and consumption of packaged foods. For making informed choices of food, reading food labelling information is important. This study attempts to determine the consumer's awareness of packaged food labelling information, its implications for manufacturers/marketers and consumer expectations and marketing ethics in general.
