Abstract

Today's business environment is highly competitive. It is not easy for an organization to survive without being innovative. Numbers of effective factors are applied by the organizations for its long run survival, training and development is one of them. Training plays an important role in productivity enhancement as it enables employees for skill development at the same time it retains the skilled employees. This dual objective of training and development can be provided by including the factors like knowledge enhancement, ability of goal setting, developing self confidence within the employees, conceptualizing the role of employee, developing ability of work-life balance, efficiency enhancement, increase in motivation level, developing the sense of recognition by providing the understanding that he or she is an integral part of the organization. Role of training and development is a topic of discussion for professionals as well as researchers. A unidirectional approach by both of them evolves the factors for the betterment of business organizations. Here professionals provide the requirements of organizations and researchers strive to find out the tools to fulfill the requirements. Hence there is need of synchronized effort.
