A little attention has been paid to reconcile spiritual teachings and modern principles of education. We often assume that modern principles of management are the result of recently developed scientific and rational approach to life. A deeper thought would reveal that spiritual masters of both oriental and occidental cultures through their teachings have propounded a good body of principles that can be followed to make our personal and professional life effective. The present study is a humble attempt to explain some of the modern management principles in the light of teachings of Lord Buddha. Linkages between Buddhism and modern management need to be seriously understood as Buddhism is known to have brought about a positive and constructive transformation in the lives of millions by inculcating in them a faith for peaceful co-existence. Amalgamation of spiritual teachings and modern management principles is a step in the direction of harmonising conventional and modern ways of life. It is sure to bring about synthesis of spiritual and modern life as it is necessary to be at peace with oneself and with the world.
