Abstract

Front-line managers are the most important leaders in an organization because they have the most contact with individual employees. Front line managers have the most influence and ability to impact on a company's retention as well as development and engagement efforts. Front-line managers significantly contribute to developing positive feelings and attitudes in an employee about his/her work such as creating a sense of fulfilment as the employee gets on with his/her daily tasks. These studies express the opinion that business owners and managers need to have long-term customer and employee relationships that will carry them through challenging and difficult times.
