Of the three-morpho variants of Cissus quadrangularis L. (family Vitaceae), variant, II was screened for its bactericidal activity against Helicobacter pylori (Hp). Chloroform extract was observed to recover bioactive principles from the plant. Aerial parts, collected during flowering season were better than those collected during vegetative season.
