Abstract

Solubilization of dicalcium phosphate and tri-calcium phosphate by thermophilic bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi was investigated. In general dicalcium phosphate was solubilized more readily than tricalcium phosphate. Bacillus stearothermophilus, Thermoactinomyces sacchari, Thermomonospora sp. and Malbranchea pulchella var. sulfurea proved to be good phosphate solubilizers and can be exploited for phosphate solubilization.
