Phylloplane microfungi were isolated from young, mature, senescent, and dead leaves of sugarcane by using two different methods. Sixty-seven different fungi were identified. The number of fungi increased with the age of leaves. Dematiaceous hyphomycetes formed the major part of the mycoflora.
