Discolored and damaged silk cocoons of Bombyx mori (Lepidoptera, family Bombycidae) were collected from godowns of a reeling factory at Indore (M.P.). Fungi detected from cocoons (in descending order of percent incidence) were Aspergillus spp., Curvularia lunata, Trichoderma viride, Neurospora sp., Cladosporium sp. and Penicillium sp. Among aspergilli, A. niger had common occurrence. Aerospora studies also confirmed the observations.
