The decolourization of textile dyes by fungi, isolated from the site of dye effluent discharge was studied in vitro conditions. Aspergillus flavus was found to be efficient in decolourizing textile dyes in order of T. Blue > Black RL > Blue 3R > Yellow GR > Orange 3R. There was stimulation in protein synthesis in presence of different dyes without any qualitative difference. Total carbohydrate content was lower in presence of dyes as compared to control.
