Abstract

Six new cyanohydrin derivatives were synthesized from different aldehydes by the process of biotransformation using Daucus carota roots and evaluated for antimicrobial activity. Except cyanohydrin derivative of heptanal, all the cyanohy-drin derivatives showed antimicrobial activity against the five pathogenic organisms studied.
