Aeromycological survey conducted during February, 1992 to January, 1994 at three distant sites in Jabalpur by using slide and Petri dish exposure techniques revealed 99 types of fungal spores and 33 species of fungi. Amongst these, 25 fungi are well known human allergens. Deuteromycotina, Ascomycotina, Basidiomycotina and Zygomycotina showed 59, 34, 5 and 1 spore type respectively and their corresponding percentage contribution was 92.8, 0.9, 4.5 and 0.04. Fungal diversity decreased during summer having mean temperature 32.4°C and relative humidity 25.8% and reached highest during autumn having mean temperature 24.0°C and relative humidity 58.8%. Aspergilli-Penicilli, Cladosporium, Curvularia, Ganoderma, Alternaria and smut spores were dominant types.
