A number of rhizosphere associated microorganisms were isolated from the two of the arid zone plants. Four bacterial isolates showed maximum capability of solubilizing inorganic phosphorus substrates (tricalcium phosphate). The quantification of phosphorus solubilizing ability has been evaluated as phosphate solubilizing efficiency. It has been found that two isolates TS-11 and TS-18 have greater efficiency of solubilizing the phosphorus. The amount of solubilized phosphorus by these two isolates was found to be 1.42 g/L and 1.07 g/L after 168 and 144 h, respectively using 5.0 g/L tricalcium phosphate TCP in liquid culture. The solubilization of TCP on PVK plates was shown by T-1 followed by TS-18.
