Abstract

Applications of ordered random variables can be seen in various real-life scenarios. For example, we might be interested in knowing the trend of the price of any commodity by arranging the prices in increasing or decreasing order of magnitude or we may be interested in finding out the lifetime of a certain kind of product manufactured through several processes. The arrangement of data in such an order produces the order statistics, which can further be used to understand the characteristics of the data such as minimum or maximum values of the range of the data etc. Different models of ordered random variables are order statistics, sequential order statistics, record values, Pfeifer's record values etc. In this paper, we deal with explicit expressions and some recurrence relations for the single and product moments of dual generalised order statistics from Topp-Leone exponential distribution. Further, numerical computations are given for the means and variances for the exceptional cases of dual generalised order statistics like reverse order statistics and lower record values. Characterisation results have also been carried out.
