Abstract

As one of the largest energy consuming state, Punjab is facing environmental worsening, which occurs due to excess use of non-renewable conventional sources of energy such as coal. Solar photovoltaic (PV) energy as an indefinite and clean energy is considered to be a good option to improve this rigorous matters. The commercial success of solar of solar energy products in Punjab depends on the extent to which it can attain the satisfaction of end users. In the study, we have designed and conducted a survey in some districts of Punjab namely Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana and Bathinda. A total of 300 users were selected. Based on the primary data, basic statistical methods like percentage and rank were used. The study aims to know the role of government, awareness of intuitional subsidy schemes and familiarity of users with solar energy products in Punjab. The results suggested that Government must ensure quality and efficiency standards to be adopted for manufacture of solar technology.
