Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Computer-Based Qualifying Exam (CBQE) for Incoming Third Year Mechanical and Electronics Engineering Students at Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU). It also intended to evaluate the acceptability of the software project in terms of accuracy, content, style, navigation and usefulness. The study used software developmental research design and Waterfall model. The researchers used Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 as the programming language to develop the system and Microsoft Access 2003 for the creation of the database. The respondents of the study who evaluated the project were the faculty members and engineering students from the College of Engineering at LPU. Results showed that CBQE was generally acceptable in five criteria of evaluation. Faculty members rated the software higher than the students and the software needs more enhancements on its content and accuracy based on the result of the evaluation.
