Abstract

Six Sigma methodologies have been found as a most powerful Quality Improvement Technique so far in the world and the technique consists of several Statistical and Non Statistical Quality tools to achieve an almost defect-free (not more than 3.4 defects per one million opportunities) process. The purpose of this paper was to gain a strong understanding of Six Sigma management philosophy, concepts, and practices. This paper seeks to provide the most recent qualitative findings to achieve a successful implementation. We will discuss the six sigma implementation strategies and the commonalties and differences between various strategies initially used to deploy six sigma. Six Sigma training structure that creates a hierarchy of expertise within the organization like green belts, black belts, master black belts and so on will also be discussed in this paper. Finally the paper conclude with the application of Six Sigma Methodology in various fields such as finance, marketing, operation and so on, which will help the companies to capture market and competitive intelligence that will enable them to create products and services that meet customers’ needs.
