This research work assessesthe perception of teachers of public secondary schools on their monetary reward in Kano State. The study, which is quantitative in nature, used survey research design. A total of 347 teachers participated in the study. Cluster sampling and random sampling techniques were used in the study. Descriptive statistics analysis was used for the analysis of the responses through SPSS version 17. The study found that the monetary reward, in terms of salary, allowances and monetary benefit, forteachers inpublic secondary schoolsin Kano State is poor. In addition, the study found that teachers in Kano State cannot afford for their basic needs.
