This paper tries to explain the problems and prospects of the sago industry. The problems are identified with the variables have been identified with respondents responses. The industrial units are identified with the help of database maintained with the Sago serve, Salem. The problems are tabulated and analysed through appropriated statistical tools. The result of the paper will assist the owners of the sago industrial units of the Salem and Namakkal district of Tamilnadu.
