Issues and challenges of infrastructure development: Road transport sector in Kerala

The engine of economic growth can be charged only by providing necessary trust in the infrastructure sector. Quality infrastructure implies the existence of world class highways, bridges etc. The development of road transport system in Kerala was influenced by the policies and programme followed by ancient rulers in India and also the scientific and technological development at the international level. This paper attempts to find out the issues and challenges of road transport sector by studying the development of road, development of vehicles and its environmental effects.
