Emiratisation: Overview of public and private sector UAE

Emiratisation is an initiative by the UAE government, which aims to employee the citizens in a meaningful and efficient manner in the public and private sector. The program mainly focuses at alleviating the UAE citizens’ unemployment problem. Emiratisation efforts have been initiated by the UAE government in order to provide employment opportunities in both public and private sector for the local Emirati population. The Emiratisation program has been showing desired outcome in the public sector while it lags behind in the private sector. This paper attempts to have an overview of the Emiratisation program and investigate prominent challenges encountered by the federal authorities in promoting this program in public and private sector.
