Abstract

The aim of this work is to estimate numerically the values of stress intensity factors using different techniques of evaluation of the stress intensity factors: extrapolation, the displacement correlation technique (D.C.T) and quarter point displacement technique (Q.P.D.T). The modified quarter point finite element was used at the crack tip to present the singularity near the crack tip. The results obtained are compared to reference solutions and show excellent agreement.
