Abstract

Silver Electrodes were attached to smooth surfaces of high quality Bi-2122 single crystal whiskers by the application of small pressure. No heating treatments of the contacts and surfaces of the whiskers were involved. These pressure contacts do not make contact to sides of the whiskers like the evaporated metal contacts or those made using silver paint. We have performed 2-point I-V measurements along the a-axis in the ab-plane from the surface of a single whisker. Intrinsic Josephson tunneling effects were observed and a number of branches were traced out. Zero bias anomalies (ZBA) have been observed as well.
