Abstract

Samples of stoichiometry (AgI)4 (PbI2)1−x (CdI2)x, (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2), have been prepared and studied by AC conductivity, dielectric constant and X-ray powder diffraction. AC conductivity was found to show three regions related to the electrode polarization, dc conductivity and frequency dependent regions. Impedance spectra showed low frequency spike and a depressed semicircle at higher frequency side. High values of dielectric constant were observed at lower frequencies and limiting values at high frequencies. Dielectric loss showed peak maxima at frequency around 103 Hz and the peak slightly shift to higher frequency with increasing Cd+2 content.
