Application of various physical laws and its suitability at Interface in Nanometric Dielectrics

Abstract

It is found that the interface between two phases does not simulate with the electric double layer due to its anisotropic dielectric character. It is also not logical to apply Boltzmann distribution, as the activity is not equal to molar concentration in the interaction zone formed between a metal electrode and an electrolyte dielectric. In our study, it is found that the use of Poisson-Boltzmann equation in the derivation of Debye-Huckel length at the interface is not appropriate up to a large extent due to segregation of charged species and anisotropic behavior at the interface. The various short range and long-range intermolecular or inter atomic forces, known and unknown, influence the dielectric behaviors of heterogeneous non-structural at the interface.
