Composite materials have interesting properties such as high strength to weight ratio, compared to metals, which make them very attractive for rotating systems. These composite shafts generally fail due to the material delimitation. The present work deals with the study of these material delimitations in a rotor system and its prediction to prevent the catastrophic failure. The methodology of identification of delamination using dynamic analysis has been explained for a rotor system. A new technique for delamination prediction has been proposed in the present work. The analysis has been carried out for different stacking sequences. Some interesting results have been observed in the present work.
