This paper is concerned with the body building shop. This is one of the crucial and primary shop floors for any manufacturing company. It it's a basic shop for the complete vehicle manufacturing process. So it is very important to calculate the work content for different types of vehicles that are rolled down in the same shop mainly for manpower saving, planning and scheduling to creating the facilities for the improvements. Work measurement has an important place in productivity improvement since the early part of twentieth century. The philosophy has been the same through the decades. Productivity can be maximized only when there exists a standard method of accomplishing a task and the time to perform a task according to a standard method can be measured. MOST is a system to measure work; therefore it concentrates on the movement of objects. It was noticed that the movements of objects follow certain consistently repeating patterns, such as reach, grasp, and move, position the object, etc. To move an object a standard sequence of events occurs. Consequently, a universal sequence model instead of random, detailed basic motions describes the basic pattern of an object's movement. By using Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) is one of the techniques followed universally in the automobile industries for work measurement by which we can able to do costing, Manpower reduction, Effective Working Time and capacity planning.
