Abstract

Impressed current cathodic protection is corrosion mitigation use Injection current for controlling electron transfer from metal to be protected and anode. This research purposed is to know some anode ability for impressed current cathodic protection and to know the influence of Injection current for anode ability at marine environment. Solution salinity for marine environment substitute is 33‰, 35‰, 37‰. Anode that used is magnesium (Mg), zinc (Zn) and graphite. Steel ASTM A53 as material that protected (cathode). The ability that measured is cathode and anode corrosion rate, DC current that injected to anode and cathode connection. The DC current to be injected for one connection anode and cathode as long as 1 x 24 hour. The result tell that graphite as better anode (low corrosion rate), Mg and Zn have high corrosion rate. The Injection current as like as DC current had measure at 37‰ salinity (most corrosive environment), corrosion rate of graphite = = 0 mm/year, Zn = 63.53996 mm/year, Mg = 844.0917 mm/year, because graphite have potential more positive and Mg more negative.
