Microwave synthetic route integrates the synthetic technology at nanolevels. we have adopted microwave method for synthesis of nano-sized barium ferrite using barium and iron oxalate precursors. There is a demand to accurately determine the transport properties of materials in the nano-sized segment. So, the dielectric properties of the barium ferrite (Ba Fe2O4) were studied in the temperature range 0°C to 700°C and also in the frequency range 1 KHz to 1MHz.AC conductivity was derived from dielectric constant and loss data. Dielectric properties of ferrites are dependent on their methods of preparation, sintering conditions and the doping concentration. The contributions of hopping electrons and space charges to the total conductivity have been discussed. It is observed that, ɛ′ and ɛ″ for samples are much higher than those normally obtained for barium ferrites prepared by the conventional ceramic method.
